** This was written on the 15th of June. I thought of saving it and posting it when i have pics but since it has been two weeks already, i thought of just posting this sans photos. That will be up soon...
The beginning of summer......
After the one weekend where we had great weather (first weekend here), the weather turned on us. It was gloomy and rainy with temperatures hovering about mid 60's. This lasted for about 3 weeks. But things are looking good from now on. Since Thursday, we have been seeing 80 degree days; perfect temperature to be outside and enjoying nature! ~~ It has since been 100 degree days...
We definitely have been taking advantage of the good weather; just yesterday we were hanging out by the reservoir. It's funny cos everyone else had boats and were zooming around in their jet-skis and stuff while we were just by the beach; three dudes, tanning on our apartment towels and looking like alcoholics with beer bottles strewn around us. Scott (one of my roomates) was trying hard to keep a lookout for his cubemate (who has a boat and promised to be up there) so we can tag along in her boat. No such luck though so we just sat there while the boats zoomed by.....It was near perfect. Almost. Would have been better with a boat. or a jet ski. or preferably, both :)
We followed that activity up with a bbq on our porch. We bought a small grill three weeks ago and did not have the chance to use it until yesterday. We had burgers ("it's beef. how can you not eat it?" said scott. that bastard. i of course ate pork burgers. way better anyways), oven fries and coleslaw. And then we had some watermelon to cap it all off. All while sitting on the porch, on the "borrowed" picnic table (taken from the lawns below us. heh) next to the duct-taped redneck tiki torches at 9.15pm, watching the sun go down. It felt good. Until the insects came out.
This morning though, i got cracking on some laundry. Ironed my work clothes (what a chore! And it was hot as hell! Not a summer activity for sure. Ahhh...now i truly appreciated mum on those Sunday afternoons where she would iron the family's shirts and pants. I say, KUDOS mum!). The two roommates being good christians went to church so i took the opportunity to use the internet to update the blog.
And here we are.
