Finally done with all the papers and essay !!
So now i am free to write about my Thanksgiving holiday in Livingston. First of all, it was real fun. did not know that Livingston is just like 30 minutes away from Bozeman. short drive. cool view.
Tuesday, 22nd Nov,
Well, we left Bozeman at 5 pm and arrived at Livingston around 30 minutes later. the drive was okay i guess, although people drive too fast over here. the legal speed limit here is 130km/h and this is pretty fast considering the Interstate is not lit with streetlights. can't ever imagine myself driving here. Okay, back to Livingston. so we arrived at my roommate's place, got introduced to his dad and mum and bro and by golly, they're a cool bunch of people. His family is extremely friendly and nice to talk to. all in all, he has an awesome family. so we went out to a mexican restaurant and his parents treated me. Thanks Mr & Mrs Dunlap. still owe you guys some ice-cream. then we went sight-seeing around Livingston. Pretty cool and historic place.
Wednesday, 23rd Nov,
Woke up and did some homework. Roomate's dad and bro went hunting/camping which i was invited to. however, my roomate discouraged me to go with them. something about it being too cold for camping and stuff. so i did all my work while tristan went skiing. he came back and we (and by we i mean roomate's mum) cooked some Malaysian food. Ayam masak merah or something. As usual i poured too much water in the curry and it was a bit too bland (for me at least, roomate thought it was good though - herm, trying to keep me from suicide maybe??). had it with some rice. after dinner, went to one of my other friend's place and all of us went around town. we capped the night off with a movie called intacto (rented from the blockbuster place, cool movie-check it out).
Thursday, 24th Nov,
Thanksgiving Day!!! Woke up a bit late because of the late night movie marathon. had lunch (blooming onion-they are sooooo good, yum) and then tried to help cook. yiut pong yiut mong type. went out to the backyard to play some catch. i am such a lousy football thrower, so ashamed when i could not catch the ball for the 153rd time. had a blast playing catch with roomate and his bro though. jumped on the giganormous (another copyrighted word) trampolin for a while till dinner is being prepared (super bad guest, played while host is cooking). Finally the turkey is done and we sat down for dinner. The turkey was so good with the stuffing and all. also had buttered rolls, pistachio dessert, mashed potatoes and some other food. they taste so good after eating dorm food (which is not too bad actually, bad food = food from Copthorne Hotel--will never forget that). had a real difficult time trying to stop myself from eating the turkey and stuffing. Played some games after that and went to bed.
Friday, 25th Nov,
woke up late again. played football, jumped on the trampolin during the afternoon. helped change the oil in the car (turned out to be a disaster, sorry for telling this tristan. turns out he drained the wrong oil. muahahahaha, nearly died laughing. although i can't say i have change the oil in a car. or pumped gas. so, no right to laugh). His dad would not leave the topic and soon everytime the word oil, or gas or change or car came up, his dad went to teasing mode. Had Thanksgiving food for dinner again and then went over to a friend's house to play some games. it was us, college kids vs the high schoolers in Cranium. we beat them not-so-flat (the fact that they did not know how to hum Hotel California for their team killed them. That's what u get when you don't listen to old songs :) ) Went home late - again
Saturday, 26th Nov,
Don't think we did anything on Saturday. just played some games, football, went around town and all. had a great time talking about Malaysia after dinner though. told them bout the food and all and showed some pics of home (college pics, hotel stay pics, dim sum (crazy hair mabel pics)). invited them to come over to Malaysia. You are so welcome to Malaysia Mr&Mrs Dunlap. bring kitty along though. pretty sweet cat.
Sunday, 27th Nov,
Final day of my stay at my roomate's place. had some breakfast and found out that that day was also the final day for hunting. Roomate's dad invited me to go hunting and i accepted. went out at 11.30, went to get some food (Mickey dees) and then headed out to the mountains. the mountains were so beautiful that day (snowing and all). went sight-seeing around the mountains and spotted some cool wildlife just roaming around. bucks, does, elks and all. stopped beside one mountain to find some bucks and found some walking along the side of the mountain. shot one (not me, i'll probably hit a tree, plus u need license) and killed it. hiked up to it and roomate's dad gutted it there and then. it was well, interesting. Dragged the deer down to the truck and we headed back. all in all, it was a cool experience. i probably won't go around and start shooting deers now but it was definitely a cool experience to go through. now i can proudly say i went hunting. "Hunting?! I've done that before!" Bragging rights, know what i'm saying... After that sweet hunting trip, went back and packed and had some turkey soup (those are good too, double yums). left Livingston at 5.30pm and arrived to the snow-filled Bozeman at 5.30pm.
To sum everything up, i had such a great time at my roomate's. so lucky to have a cool roomate. Thanks for having me over Tristan and Mr&Mrs Dunlap (still cannot call people by their first name, so different than "Hello, Auntie" and "Hello, Uncle").
