Busy busy night

First of all, i broke my rule of not sleeping on the lawn. I know, i know, i just said yesterday i wouldn't sleep on the lawn but what to do, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.

Last night, i was feeling kinda bored so i joined my Malaysian friends to play badminton. Turns out it was stupendously fun (not like playing with kh, always complain about my skills). So from now on, i declare Friday night as Badminton Night (this applies to me only, but you can join in the celebration if u want to. No new clothes or ang pow though).

So on the way back at around 10 pm, we saw a whole bunch of people outside the Gymnasium Complex, playing football and having a blast. Thinking it was a party of some sorts, we went home.

So what does this have to do with sleeping on the lawn, u ask?? Ask and u shall see in my magic ball.......(practising for halloween)

Turns out the "party" was a camp-out to get this year's most important football game - Bobcats versus our arch-and-incompetent enemy Grizzlies. I found that out because my roomate went to camp-out (i was not in at 9pm when he went - turns out we were supposed to go together). so i made up my mind to go as well. i slept till 3 am then i went to line up at the Complex. when i got there, it was like a full-blown party. people were not sleeping, they were playing cards, football (american football that is), frisbee, fire...... (one guy actually caught on fire. Heard from roomate he was showing off and the fire accidentally spread to his body. He had to stop, drop and roll while his friends beat the fire out with blankets)

there was a huge bonfire going on (it was very very cold yesterday as i unwillingly found out - even with two shirts and a jacket and two long pants and hat and gloves) . people were talking and shouting and yelling, f**k the griz (followed by catcalls of approval and the chant will go down the line like a mexican wave). i tried to get some sleep on the cold, cold lawn but it was too chilly to sleep and the people next to me were busy chatting and eating chips.

We all waited till 7 pm before a new line was formed. too bad for the people who were still sleeping. but the line was still long from where i was at. People were getting restless while waiting for the gates to be open at 9. some were playing with food, some were scavenging for donuts on the floor (clean donuts in boxes, not donuts that have been lying on the asphalt), some were tossing toilet paper along the whole line, trying to form long streamers. Finally the gates opened and people emerged from the Gym looking victorious with their ticktes. i got mine at 9.38am and after that went home to sleep until 12.50pm.

Still kinda tired right now but kinda happy that i have the ticket to the most important game. And just an hour ago, i got my tv :). My friend from malaysia (turns out he is from chung ling too but class of 2002) brought me to a couple of pawn shops and the salvation army. Although i did not get it as cheap as i wanted, it was still a good deal (i was expecting under 20 but at that price u get a very small tv). my tv was 49 and i got a discount of 9 dollars. and i found a dollar on thursday. so i guess it is only 39. kinda happy now. planning to sleep again before working at 5pm.

Oh yeah, CATS RULE and Griz eat shit.

Dream/Nightmare (the cold was horrendous)
